I wish I had more photos, and planned this one better. I hiked the border trail one way, and hitched a ride back. The trees were almost as large as the California Red Woods. Would like to go back, and explore the other trails.

Pretty cool place once you get there. It takes a 4 Wheel drive or at least a vehicle with high Clearance. The road gets pretty bumpy and is just dirt. However to hike in the cloud ring if Haleakala is worth it. A few different hikes start from the park and there is a ranger station you can rent out also.

Its so cool you will love it xxx☺☺☺☺

I'd rather live one day on Poli Poli than a lifetime in Kahului

Don't even try to get there without a 4-wheel drive vehicle. We paid to reserved a campsite online, but the road up the mountain turned to dirt/mud and quickly became impassable without getting stuck. We were never informed that a 4-wheel drive vehicle was required to pass through the 4 mile mountain road to reach the campsites. We were forced to turn back for fear of getting stuck, and we lost our $$ for the camping reservation. Be advised!
