It is a beautiful property and the free tour they provide that lasts about half an hour is very informative and gives a great history of the ranch. For each of the tastings, they are very generous with the amount of wine they give each person. This is compared to the wineries we go to every summer back home in the Okanagan in BC, Canada.
Beautiful winery with fantastic views and landscapes and both standard type wines and a few unique flavors. My husband and I did one of the tasting flights because we wanted the opportunity to try all the pineapple wines. The Maui Splash was our favorite, the sweeter taste paired well with the pineapple and passion fruit flavors. The tasting room/bar area is nice and includes a small bar top area and adjacent gift shop area, a room that tells the history of the winery, and outdoor porch seating. There are some outdoor games to keep you occupied or keep kids busy. We didn't do the tour but felt it was still worth the drive up. You have to either drive south from the Paia area or go around the back way from Hana so it isn't the quickest place to visit. The end of the drive coming from Paia had a few twisty blind turns but the road is mostly well kept and wide enough for a shoulder on each side most of the way up there. The wines they make are available in stores elsewhere around the island at a similar or slightly higher price than what they sell it for at the winery. But if your looking for a good half day excursion this is a good choice. And there are other fun places to stop by on the way there or back.
The quality of their wines has increased dramatically over the past few years, and the setting is stunning. Giant trees, beautiful drive to get there. It really is a magical place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
.
You can get a charcuterie plate to enjoy with the tasting if you would like. Then you can sit on their patio and enjoy it. Highly recommend for those that like to taste wines.
We very much enjoyed our time here. We did two tastings at the King's Cottage for $10 and $15 each, then did the $25 special tasting at the Old Jail where they provide a small sampling of food.
This is a must see stop when visiting.
Make sure to bring a designated driver. The tastings were great and at a great price too. They offer a few special tastings threw the day at specific times. You can onky drink at the tasting room or porch. Unfortunately you can NOT walk around the premises and drink.
Not necessarily for the wine, but the views along the drive are some of the best on the island. The country store has awesome elk burgers and some amusing gifts. The grounds around the winery are beautiful and the huge trees magnificent. Worth the drive for sure
The 20% alcohol dessert wine is AMAZING & a must try! Across the street is a cowboy store and quick food like burgers wirh different kinds if meat like bison etc
Very friendly and helpful staff and they are quite knowledgeable about the ranch's history and the wines. The drive to the winery is very windy and enjoyable for those that would like that type of drive.
