Nice place for a picnic and a walk on the nature trail.
Great free (only need to pay the access to the National Park, witch is good for three days) spot to camp on the Haleakala volcano. This is perfect if you want to see the sunset and the sunrise on top of the volcano. Don't forget to bring warm clothes, cause this place is cold, about 15 degrees Celsius. Toilets are not so clean and they stink. But, well, it's free, so this is not a big struggle.
We went to cjs deli and picked up a picnic lunch and had it here after the volcano visit. Awesome picnic food with a beautiful spot to eat it in. Make sure you take the nature trail. It's not very long and it's beautiful. Well worth the time.
Good for the purpose it serves...camp before sunrise. It does have water, charcoal grills and well maintained restrooms. Just don't expect a high end campsite.
The Camping area is simple and only for tents.
Great place to camp. Get there early for a good spot. Bring plenty warm clothes and bedding, no matter what time of year! Great place to watch the stars!
